About Very Special Kids

Very Special Kids is a non-for-profit organisation that supports families caring for a child with a life-limiting condition, from early diagnosis through the challenges that follow.

Supporting close to 900 families across Melbourne and regional Victoria, the organisation provides much-needed care and respite to families navigating incredibly difficult circumstances.

With the completion of its new hospice, Very Special Kids needed technology that could support its team and the important work happening every day.

The Challenge

Opening a new hospice involves much more than the building itself.

Very Special Kids needed reliable technology and communications throughout the facility, including systems that would support nurses, counsellors and other team members delivering services to families.

At the same time, the organisation wanted to continue strengthening its IT environment, addressing cyber security risks and moving away from reliance on physical servers and hardware.
